Photographing the American Dream in Chicago
any of my friends see the view from my mom's apartment and wonder with envy how she is so lucky and how I'm so lucky to live here for six months. What they don't understand is just how much history is behind the luxurious view.
My parents moved from India to the US in the early 90's for a chance to live the American dream. And instead of living the American dream, they were dirt poor for a decade.
